Colored Pencil Workshop
With Kristy Kutch
Saturday and Sunday April 26 & 27, 2008
9:30 a.m.  - 4:00 p.m.
 
Kristy Kutch will demonstrate and guide students in color-layering, burnishing, line impression, solvent marker and colorless pencil blending. Kristy Kutch is an upbeat, experienced teacher and author of the book Drawing and Painting with Colored Pencil and is a seasoned workshop instructor who provides an informative, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere for learning and has taught many colored pencil workshops nationwide.
As a Charter Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, Kristy is a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, with both bachelor's and master's degrees in education, as well as a life license in teaching.  She is a contributor to The Best of Colored Pencil 1, 3, and 5; Creative Colored Pencil; Design: Illustration; The Best of Business Card Design 3 and 5; Creating Radiant Flowers in Colored Pencil; Floral Inspirations; Exploring Color (Revised Edition), and Colored Pencil Explorations. Independent Study
 Our Independent Study Program is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore your own interests, at your own speed.  When you use the Center's creative Classroom/Studio space in conjunction with our Reading/Reference Library you can invent and investigate your own projects during a time that is convenient for you.  Our Library might just have the information that you need for your dreaded report or research paper.  Remember that it features over 500 books on Artists, Art History, Art Theory, Art Education, Visual Perception, Art Therapy, Cognitive Development, Art Materials, Media Techniques, Design, Spiritual Creativity, Art Theory and Crafts. 
Practical artistic guidance is available upon request.

Individual Instruction
 Each session is designed to meet the specific needs of the student of all levels.
 
Critiques and Consultations
A critical analysis of the merits of the work presented, as determined by classical academic teachings.
Shared discussion will lead to a plan of action.

Exploration of Art as a Therapeutic Process
Guidance towards the discovery of how art materials can be used to reflect on, organize and understand life experiences.
