Our art center is a gathering place where people can come together and express their feelings creatively. An art foundation for Sawyer, Michigan, The Scarlet Macaw Community Art Center provides a location for community based art.
History
Built on the foundation of an artist's studio, the center was developed to meet the needs of the region. Established in 1994 by Nifodora D. Krumrie, the center is located in Sawyer in the scenic southwest corner of lower Michigan. In 2002, the center moved into the historical 5888 Building.
Housed in Sawyer's oldest downtown building, the center is now located on the main street in the heart of Sawyer. The space is an exciting "work in progress" that has been upgraded to make the environment accessible to all residents.
